Although it is a new brand, Ohmine Shuzou has a long history that goes all the way back to 1822. Ohmine Shuzu resumed operations in 2010 after a 50-year hiatus, reviving a historic brewery in Mine City, Yamaguchi – a region blessed with abundant natural beauty such as the Akiyoshi Plateau and the famous Shuhodo limestone caves.
Using ultra-soft spring water from Benten Pond, known as “Water for the Gods,” and locally cultivated Yamada Nishiki rice, Ohmine crafts elegant, additive-free sake that expresses a pure, fruity sweetness reminiscent of white peaches.
Since its revival, Ohmine has become a pioneer of modern sake culture, combining minimalist design with refined taste. Its sake has been featured at Michelin-starred restaurants, luxury events, and even served to world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos
