Grace Koshu is the flagship white of Grace Wine, the family-run Katsunuma winery at the forefront of Japan's international push for the Koshu grape. It is made entirely from Koshu grown around Katsunuma in Yamanashi, fermented and kept in stainless steel with no oak, so the fruit and vineyard come through unadorned. This is the 2025 vintage, bottled at 11.7%.
Expect a pale lemon colour, fresh citrus and orange aromas, and touches of apple, pear and white peach. The palate is dry and concentrated with a firm line of acidity, finishing savoury with a gentle bitter edge, a natural partner for delicate Japanese cuisine and seafood.
