description

Yamanashi de Grace is Grace Wine's red blend, built on Muscat Bailey A, the red grape bred in Japan. The Muscat Bailey A comes from contract growers in Hosaka, Nirasaki, at the foot of Mt Kayagatake, while the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc come from the family's own high-altitude Misawa Vineyard in Akeno. Each variety spends around a year in French oak before blending, and the exact mix changes with the vintage.

The wine is a bright ruby with a purple edge, showing blueberry and plum fruit, rose and lavender florals and a light touch of nutmeg and clove. The palate is dry and fresh, with fine tannins and supple acidity. Serve it slightly cool with grilled and soy-glazed dishes.
